Finance Operations Manager

Discussion
Go City is transforming the way people see and experience the world’s greatest destinations. We give our customers total flexibility to choose the experiences, tours and activities they want to visit at incredible savings. Backed by highly successful Private Equity firm Exponent and headquartered in Covent Garden, London, the business is highly profitable with 3+ million customers globally. Go City is excited for like-minded, problem-solving individuals to join the team and make their mark on our future.

This role sits at the centre of Go City's finance operations, giving the team clear direction across accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and payroll. The role exists to keep those processes accurate and on time, close the books each month with a reliable read on cash, debtor and creditor positions, and give the VP of Financial Control the visibility needed to run the wider finance function.

Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll lead the team through change: developing the finance system and processes, supporting product and trade team requests that need finance input, and finding better ways for the team to work together and at pace.
Team leadership
  • Line-manage a team of 3 (Accounts Payable Lead, Treasury & Payroll Lead, and Accounts Receivable Executive), building a team that delivers accurately and on
    time.
  • Set clear priorities across AP, AR, treasury and payroll, so the team can plan its daily, weekly and monthly output with confidence.
  • Support the team’s development, building depth and confidence so capability doesn’t sit with one person.
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Act as the escalation point for payments, balances, supplier compliance and customer account risks the AP Lead and AR Executive can't resolve alone.
  • Review AP performance data and KPIs from the AP Lead, and receivables ageing and trends from the AR Executive, flagging issues that need wider attention.
  • Own the finance team's relationship with the Trade and Customer Services teams, keeping partners happy and bookings unaffected. This includes resolving escalated queries such as refund request approvals, providing finance input on trade decisions, and overseeing accuracy of rates in Tradehub.
  • Keep the transactional core of the team running smoothly, with suppliers paid
on time and bank exposure and approvals under control.
  • Oversee administration of complimentary passes for employees, influencers and partners, reconciling them periodically so nothing’s unaccounted for.
Treasury and payroll
  • Oversee the Treasury & Payroll Lead's cash flow maintenance, bank reconciliations and monthly payroll runs across the UK, US and EOR (global) teams, acting as backup for payroll processing in their absence.
  • Work with the Treasury & Payroll Lead and the Head of Financial Control & Reporting on cash flow forecasting, keeping the group forecast reliable.
  • Support banking partner relationships, stepping in on changes that need manager-level sign-off.
  • Get into the detail of payroll processes and handoffs with the People team, so delivery stays efficient and accurate.
Close, reporting and compliance
  • Manage month-end close activities across AP, AR, treasury and payroll, reporting closing cash, debtor and creditor positions to the VP of Financial Control on time.
  • Take direction from, and support, the Head of Financial Control & Reporting to keep postings GAAP-compliant, and support the team through the year-end audit process.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager with reporting on staff costs, other overheads and ad hoc requests.
Systems and process improvement
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager with management of the finance system (Dynamics Business Central), including its ongoing development and integration.
  • Partner with Product team and Senior Finance Manager to process change requests, for example new consumer-facing changes, SKUs or partner integrations, understanding the financial implications and controls each one needs.
  • Look for ways to optimise ADP (payroll) and Deel (EOR management), working with the Treasury & Payroll Lead on system and process changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement across AP, AR, treasury and payroll, streamlining processes, spotting opportunities for technology or AI to remove manual work, and strengthening reporting capabilities.
  • Solid, hands-on experience across financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset, with a genuine interest in how finance processes, systems and controls fit together.
  • Comfortable working with finance systems, including Dynamics Business Central, with a good instinct for how processes and controls should be built.
  • Confidence adapting to change, whether that's a new trade partner's reporting model, a system change or a shifting priority.
  • Strong people management skills and a genuine passion for coaching, building confidence and depth across the team.
  • Confident stakeholder management, able to work with Commercial, Product and Customer Services teams as well as senior finance leadership.
Bonus, not essential
  • Experience working in an international organisation.
How you work
  • You stay close to the detail while keeping sight of the bigger operational picture.
  • You lead by example, building a team that trusts you to remove blockers and set clear direction.
  • You build strong relationships across finance and the wider business, and use them to get things done.
  • You take ownership of deadlines across the team, keeping month-end and reporting commitments on track.
  • You look for better ways of working and take the initiative to put improvements
    into practice.
  • Annual Go City Explorer Pass allowance
  • Enhanced pension contributions. (5% employer)
  • Life assurance: 4x your base salary
  • Time off:
    • Annual leave: 25 days + bank holidays
    • Option to buy additional 5 days annual leave per year
    • Upgraded Family Leave
    • 1x Community day. Take a day off to give back to the community
    • Work from Anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year
  • Health care cash plan
  • Personal Learning Budget & dedicated time for development
  • EAP providing access to counselling, finance support, etc.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
