Finance Portfolio Manager

The Finance Portfolio Manager (Grants & Projects) is responsible for providing strategic and operational financial management across multiple program portfolios, including Inclusive Education, Child Protection and Child Rights Governance, Risk Reduction, Resilience and Livelihood, Child and Adolescent Health, and Humanitarian Programs. The role ensures effective financial planning, grant/project management, compliance, reporting, and analysis for both local and international funding sources, including institutional donors and corporate grants. The position also plays a critical role in proposal budgeting and financial analysis in close coordination with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function.



Requirements

Essential knowledge or experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
  • Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in NGO finance, with strong exposure to grants and project finance
  • Proven experience managing multi-donor portfolios (institutional and corporate)
  • Strong knowledge of donor regulations (e.g., EU, DFAT, bilateral donors, INGOs)
  • Experience in proposal budgeting and financial planning
  • Experience supervising and developing teams


Desirable knowledge or experience

Technical

  • Strong Excel or financial data management skills
  • Understanding of cost structures and budgeting principles
  • Ability to manage structured financial datasets
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple portfolios and deadlines in a complex environment
  • Strategic thinking with operational execution capability

Collaboration

  • Ability to work across multiple teams (e.g. technical and finance)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Responsive coordination with program and finance teams
  • Ability to coordinate multiple inputs under tight timelines


Required qualifications and/or license/certification
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or equivalent is an advantage
