Description

About Micron
Micron Technology is a global leader in memory and storage, delivering DRAM, NAND, and emerging memory technologies that power data centers, AI infrastructure, mobile, and automotive. We are driven by innovation, precision, and enabling the future of data.

About the Role
Central Business Unit Finance is the analytical engine behind Micron's business units — a lean team partnering with business and sales leadership and supporting both internal and external reporting. This is a senior individual contributor role with a high ceiling: high autonomy, visibility, and stakes. You'll own complex modeling and analytics, mentor high-potential analysts, and deliver insights that shape executive decisions from the analytical center of gravity of the business. We're looking for someone intellectually curious, quantitatively wired, and AI-native.

Responsibilities

Business Planning & Reporting: Lead end-to-end quarterly business planning — consolidating business unit inputs, analyzing price, volume, mix, and cost variances, and aligning the plan with leadership direction; deliver the plan deck, long-range financials, and auditor submissions, flag improvement opportunities, and support earnings and Board preparation.

Scenario Planning & Financial Advisory: Build three-statement scenario models that pressure-test cash flow and balance sheet health under macro, industry, and pricing shifts; deliver best/worst cases that inform investment decisions for the Board, Treasury, and senior leadership.

Strategic Customer Agreements: Lead analytics, disclosures, and audit coordination for long-term customer agreements, tracking coverage, duration, pricing commitments, deposits, and revenue durability.

Cost, Margin & Segment Analysis: Explain cost drivers by product and segment; allocate idle and startup capacity costs; maintain segment definitions; and support margin optimization by steering supply toward the most profitable mix.

Inventory Controls & Supply Risk: Implement inventory controls that minimize scrap and ensure policy compliance; support analysis of supply chain complexity, product rationalization, and customer concentration risk.

Recurring Reporting & Systems: Support recurring reporting for corporate partner teams — investor communications, incentive plan metrics, and litigation requests — and testing of planning-system upgrades.

Partnership & Continuous Improvement: Partner with business, corporate FP&A, Legal, and executive stakeholders with minimal oversight, and build AI-enabled models and workflows that improve accuracy and cut manual effort.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years in FP&A or business finance in semiconductor, technology, or capital-intensive manufacturing.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science

• Quantitative Skills: Statistical reasoning — sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, regression — applied to business problems.

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel and SQL required. Strongly preferred: hands-on fluency with AI-assisted tools (VS Code, Python, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Claude Cowork) to automate recurring analysis, build HTML and web-based reports with AI, and prompt efficiently for accurate results without wasting tokens.

• Systems & AI Tools: SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Workday Adaptive Planning, or IBM Planning Analytics (TM1); data platforms such as Snowflake or Palantir Foundry; AI assistants (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini).

• Communication & Reporting: Proven executive-level reporting, scenario models, and BI dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) for C-suite and Board audiences.
