POSITION SUMMARY

Heelstone is seeking a Financial Analyst who will provide support in all aspects of renewable energy and corporate finance activities, including M&A, raising and structuring project debt and tax equity, and revenue contract origination. The role will work directly with leading industry participants, including developers, financing partners, and investment banks. This is a full-time position located in Durham, NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain financial models using multiple different capital structures
• Assist in screening, structuring, and pricing acquisitions and project bids
• Prepare analyses for internal investment committee approvals
• Support raising and structuring debt, equity, and tax equity for utility-scale solar projects
  
• Support origination of revenue contracts and related analysis to inform pricing and structuring
  
• Assist in structuring and pricing project divestitures
• Assist in due diligence of project acquisitions and greenfield development opportunities
• Understand historical data sets through publicly available energy pricing to form forward views on pricing and other market dynamics
  
• Assist with market research, analytics, and modeling
• Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

• Excellent financial modeling skills, including high proficiency with Excel
• Exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail
• Self-starter who operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment
• Strong sense of accountability
• Strong organization and management skills
• Ability to prioritize concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a similar discipline
• 1-3 years of work experience in banking or a similar industry a plus
• Advanced Excel training a plus
• Background in project finance, investment banking, private equity, or leveraged finance
