Financial Analyst II, IMDb
Ever wondered what the numbers behind the world's biggest movie and TV destination look like? Amazon is looking for a Finance Manager to be a key partner to IMDb, the world's most popular and authoritative source for information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities, reaching a combined web and mobile audience of more than 250 million unique visitors every month. IMDb sits squarely at the intersection of entertainment, media, and technology, inside one of the world's most innovative and consumer-obsessed companies, Amazon.
This is a role for a finance leader who wants to do more than report the past. You will operate as the "CFO" of the IMDb advertising business, owning its financial strategy and steering the decisions that shape a fast-growing revenue engine across Premium and Programmatic ads. You will also be an integral partner across IMDb's broader FP&A functions: because IMDb runs as a distinct Amazon subsidiary that owns its P&L end to end, you will work shoulder to shoulder with the IMDb team on the planning, reporting, and analysis that guide the whole business, from revenue and OpEx to headcount, infrastructure, and cross-business allocations.
You will thrive here if you think big and drive business direction, excel at controllership, and build mechanisms that make the business run faster and cleaner. You will communicate crisply with leadership, juggle multiple concurrent priorities, and consistently deliver in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Strong candidates bring a track record of increasing responsibility and high standards, and the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize. If you want a seat at the table where entertainment meets big-tech scale, and the room to think big while sweating the details, this is your stage.
Key job responsibilities
• Own the IMDb advertising P&L end to end: lead OP1/OP2 and guidance cycles, run month-end close, and present the P&L, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Lead forecasting of revenue, OpEx, headcount, infrastructure, and allocations.
• Drive the weekly and monthly rhythm: kick off the bi-weekly Sales WBR, partner on the Ads and Sales MBRs (including the new P0 metrics mechanism), and own the quarterly QBR P&L and ads appendix.
• Own reporting across Premium, Programmatic, pro-forma (including Associates), and 3P revenue, partnering with BI to automate manual processes.
• Serve as SME for OpEx, COGS, headcount costs, and Ad/Business/Infrastructure allocations, upholding strong controllership.
• Lead the IMDb Leadership Team goals mechanism, including the Kingpin update and meeting.
• Partner with business owners to frame key questions and deliver ad hoc analysis on Entertainment and Non-Entertainment opportunities.
A day in the life
You start your day reviewing financial data for accuracy, then pivot to building a model that helps a business partner evaluate a new initiative. You might spend time partnering with another team to resolve a data discrepancy, followed by presenting your analysis and recommendations to senior leaders. Throughout, you leverage finance tools and systems to streamline your work and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within your team.
About the team
The world's most popular entertainment destination with 250M+ monthly visitors, across advertising, subscription, and licensing revenue streams.
