  • You will be working on a hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement, with an expectation of working in the office 2-3 days a week.

  • This is a secondment/contract, ending on July 30, 2027.

  • The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Finance Business Support team is responsible for budgeting, management reporting/analysis, and special projects for Fidelity Canada’s various business areas. The team’s focus is to support these business areas in achieving their objectives by identifying issues, recommending solutions, providing financial transparency and beneficial financial assessments.

This is achieved by building positive relationships with these internal client groups while meeting the needs and interests of all collaborators. This role specifically supports the Fidelity Canada Investment Management (FCIM) division.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for timely, accurate financial reporting and forecasting for their business unit. This role is also responsible for providing Finance support on larger projects of strategic or business importance by providing consulting, planning, and end-to-end argument support. This role will also lead multiple operational improvement and automation initiatives across the team. The successful candidate will be required to build strong partnerships with business leaders and colleagues by providing appropriate financial stewardship, guidance, and strategic support.

This role will reside in the Finance department, specifically on Business Support team reporting to the Director of Finance Operations & Insights, while directly supporting projects and assignments relating to Business or Finance strategy or operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead Business Planning, Forecast & Reporting efforts across your responsible areas

  • Successful identification and inclusion of relevant sales, assets, direct and indirect resources required for inclusion in long-term business plans.

  • Consolidate and analyze data from a wide variety of sources, working with multiple collaborators within prescribed timelines to complete an accurate budget / forecast

  • Complete monthly & quarterly forecasts based on historical trends, integrated with current sales volume projections while ensuring alignment from both Finance & Business executives.

  • Complete key business performance reporting with accuracy & on time, delivering insights to help collaborators make business decisions.

Lead reporting enhancements & improvements in execution

  • Proven ability to automate and improve existing reporting & analysis via tools such as PowerBI.

  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing process optimization opportunities, bringing to bear automation, standardization, and new technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and reporting quality.

  • Ability to develop end-to-end financial models, conduct sensitivity analysis and develop compelling insights for executive-level audiences.

Lead analysis and presentation efforts that drive strategic decision making

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models

  • Have or develop a thorough understanding of Fidelity’s products & cost structure to support business partners

  • Communicate with relevant collaborators (i.e., Fund Oversight Division, Legal, HR, Information Systems) on non-standard requests, ensuring any non-financial considerations are accurately reflected in the argument

  • Identify and coordinate areas of cross-functional Finance support for business projects (e.g. Accounting, Tax, Analytics, Reporting).

  • Determine key collaborators relating to monthly financial projections, ensuring relevant information is coordinated into cases and financial models.

What We’re Looking For

  • University degree with a focus in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience working in Financial Analysis role within a Finance department.

The following are considered an asset:

  • Previous experience with PowerBI, KNIME, or similar tools.

  • Completion of a CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) or MBA.

  • 2+ years in Financial Analyst or equivalent role.

  • Financial Services industry experience.

  • Previous experience with month end accounting cycle.

  • Strong financial and business insight, being able to translate financial concepts into business terminology.

  • Demonstrated time management & project management fundamentals.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment where business conditions and projects continually change.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.

  • Strong organization and time management skills.

  • Experience working and collaborating with peers, managers, and leaders.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and partners, and within Finance.

This contract role offers a flexible, hourly compensation model that reflects your expertise and the value you bring. The hourly rate ranges from $41.00 to $62.00, based on experience and qualifications.
