JOB SUMMARY:
The Financial Assistance Advocate at Polaris Pharmacy Services is responsible for providing support and guidance to patients in need of financial assistance for their medication and healthcare services. This role involves assessing patient eligibility for various financial aid programs, assisting with application processes, and ensuring that patients receive the necessary support to access their prescribed treatments. The advocate will work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate financial solutions and improve patient outcomes.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess patient eligibility for financial assistance programs and resources.
- Guide patients through the application process for financial aid, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to coordinate financial support for patients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available financial assistance programs and any changes in eligibility criteria or application procedures.
- Provide clear and empathetic communication to patients regarding their financial assistance options and status.
- Maintain detailed records of patient interactions and financial assistance activities in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Identify and address any barriers to patient access to medication and healthcare services.
- Work with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless integration of financial assistance services into the patient care process.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to financial assistance advocacy.
- Act as a liaison between patients and external financial assistance organizations to facilitate the resolution of financial issues.
