Financial Controller (Construction/Civil Engineering)

An experienced Financial Controller to oversee its finance and accounting functions across two related companies.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate and timely reporting, effective cash flow management and sound financial controls. This position will also lead and guide a lean finance team of three.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Review financial performance, budgets and variances and provide meaningful financial insights to management.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, banking facilities and treasury-related matters.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, tax regulations and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, banks and other professional parties.
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial processes and reporting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support management in business planning, financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Monitor project costs, margins, profitability and financial performance.
  • Oversee GST, corporate tax and other statutory finance-related submissions.
  • Provide guidance, supervision and development to the existing finance team.
  • Review and improve the utilisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related finance processes.
  • Undertake other finance-related projects and responsibilities as required by management.
