Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Controller will perform the functions outlined below:
Perform month end close finance operations, including the checking of financial transactions and payments in the ledger as well as account reconciliations.
Identify and execute improvements/automation of the month end close processes.
Identify control gaps in the process and implement key controls where necessary.
Ensure all processes and controls are adequately documented.
Liaise with the Technology team to ensure all accounting systems issues are logged and closed out in an appropriate timeframe.
From time to time, provide accounting guidance on relevant topics and update accounting papers/guidance as necessary.
Participate in ad-hoc tasks/projects in support of department or Company’s initiatives.
Requirements
Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Financial Management, Economics,Accounting or other related business course
Familiarity with Credit and Loan Products
Minimum 3 years experience working in a company performing investment banking functions
Should have an understanding of general accounting principles including financial statements
Excellent English, verbal and written communication skills
Keen attention to details
Computer and internet proficient
Can work with minimal supervision and can deliver high quality output
Must be highly organized and with excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize activities effectively
Must be proactive, motivated, detail-oriented, a team player and knows how to work with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics
