Financial Controller / Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Controller / Manager to lead and strengthen the finance function of a growing, multi-entity organization.

This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, effective cash flow management, financial analysis, tax and compliance coordination, internal controls, and overall financial discipline across the organization.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, someone who can oversee the overall finance function while also diving into the details when needed. The role will work closely with management, the accounting team, and external accounting partners to provide reliable financial information that supports sound business decisions.

Profile: CPA, 5+ years, ideally with multi-entity SME experience

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning & Analysis: Direct the performance of analytical procedures on financial and non-financial reports to provide actionable strategic insights to executive leadership.
• Audit & Governance Management: Lead external and internal audit engagements, ensuring the timely submission of disbursement vouchers, resolution of audit findings, and strict adherence to internal controls.
• Financial Oversight & Reporting: Supervise the continuous monitoring, reconciliation, and integrity of all general ledger accounts across company financial statements.
• Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee group-wide tax compliance, including the accurate and timely preparation, review, and filing of Value Added Tax (VAT), Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT), and other regulatory tax returns for the Sky Group.
• Procurement & Operations Supervision: Exercise supervisory oversight over the procurement workflow, ensuring strict compliance in Purchase Requests (PR), vendor canvassing, and Purchase Order (PO) approvals.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Disbursement Control: Establish and maintain robust internal controls over the filing, processing, and archiving of company disbursement vouchers and payment records.
• Expenditure & Liquidation Management: Review and approve liquidation reports, ensuring proper documentation, budgetary compliance, and accurate recording.
• Working Capital Management: Direct the monitoring, aging analysis, and monthly reconciliation of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) to optimize cash flow.
• Tax Strategy & Compliance: Manage all statutory, corporate tax, and governmental regulatory filings to ensure full compliance with updated tax laws.
• Treasury & Petty Cash Governance: Oversee petty cash fund management, approving reimbursements, and enforcing internal controls against unauthorized spend.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Procurement Supervisor and operational teams to streamline purchasing strategies, cost control, and vendor management.
• Special Projects & Leadership: Execute ad-hoc financial analysis and complete strategic management initiatives assigned by senior executives.
  

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):

• Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field (required); Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in end-to-end accounting operations, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role (Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Audit Supervisor).
• Technical Expertise: Proven track record in managing external audits, tax strategy, and filing complex EWT, VAT, and corporate income taxes.
• Taxation Knowledge: Strong mastery of Philippine Business Taxation, tax compliance standards, and recent updates from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
• Software & Tools: High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online/Desktop, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced MS Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical thinking, strategic data summarization, strong leadership skills, and excellent written and verbal business communication skills.
