Financial Economic Crime Counsel
You interpret US and international Financial Economic Crime laws, advise on OFAC sanctions and secondary sanctions risks, translate obligations into policies and procedures, conduct integrity risk assessments, support regulatory inquiries and audits, and represent AML Compliance in governance workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Identify and interpret Financial Economic Crime legal and regulatory obligations
- Advise on US sanctions regimes and secondary sanctions risks
- Translate regulatory obligations into policies and procedures
- Perform integrity risk assessments
- Coordinate follow-up actions
- Support regulatory inquiries, audits, and supervisor interactions
- Represent AML Compliance in governance workstreams
- Develop compliant solutions aligned with commercial objectives
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant compliance or regulatory experience
- Financial services or payments industry experience, or experience at a US regulatory agency
- Knowledge of US Financial Economic Crime laws and regulations
- Knowledge of OFAC sanctions
- Knowledge of AML/CFT requirements
- Research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of sanctions screening, geofencing, and transaction monitoring controls
- US Bar membership in good standing
