Financial Eligibility Worker
Summary
Assists uninsured patients with health insurance enrollment by reviewing eligibility, educating on programs, and processing applications.
Position Summary
The Financial Eligibility Worker will assist NECC patients that do not have medical insurance coverage. This position will be responsible for assisting patients with the application process and enrolling the patient into various insurance programs if qualified.
Schedule:
- Flexible, may require some evening and weekends
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Review Provider schedules and identify patients with no medical insurance coverage
- Newborns
- Children previously seen under Gateway and/or Public Private Partnership (PPP) Program
- Patient with Share of Cost
- Screen Families and educate them on various health insurance programs available and necessary qualifications
- Enroll patients according to their qualifications
- Assist patients with all necessary forms for initial enrollment and redetermination process, as necessary
- Assist patients with all other necessary forms and paperwork pertaining to health insurance coverage
- Conduct follow-up with applicants to ensure any and all required documentation and paperwork is submitted and inform patients of any approved health insurance coverage
- Other duties as assigned by the HCC Coder, Clinic Manager or Operations Director
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a patient advocate and a liaison between patients and the clinic, ensuring 100% patient satisfaction
- Identify and resolve issues that could lead to member dissatisfaction and could affect member retention.
- Help Patients with Insurance questions.
