Financial Modeling Engineer
Kernel — the world's largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil and a key supplier of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to global markets — is looking for a Financial Modeling Engineer to join our FP&A team.
This role sits at the intersection of financial modeling, FP&A, and AI. You'll own the financial models and forecasts that drive management decision-making, while building the next generation of FP&A processes — where AI handles the routine work, not people.
We're looking for someone who already builds with AI and wants to go further: deepening these skills and applying them at scale in a large business.
What you'll do:
Develop and maintain financial models forecasting performance across business divisions
Run scenario analysis and sensitivity testing on key assumptions
Analyze investment projects and prepare materials for investment decisions
Build AI-powered solutions (prompts, skills, agents) for FP&A processes — forecasting, scenario modeling, variance analysis, commentary generation
Turn dashboards and reports into actionable insights for leadership
Distill large volumes of analytics into decision-ready formats
Identify manual, repetitive FP&A processes and automate them end-to-end — tracking impact through hours saved, faster reporting, and fewer errors
What we're looking for:
3+ years of experience in financial modeling and investment analysis
Advanced Excel skills — building structured, scalable financial models
CFA Level 1 (minimum, completed)
Experience with Power BI and Power Query for data transformation and visualization
Strong motivation to advance AI adoption in financial modeling and FP&A
Ability to validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy against source data
Experience with at least one low-code automation platform (Power Automate, n8n, Zapier)
Nice to have:
Daily hands-on use of AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT) in your workflow
Experience building AI agents or automations deployed in real business processes
Experience connecting AI to internal systems via MCP
Background in Big 4, consulting, or investment banking
CFA Level 2–3 completed
What we offer:
Official employment
Competitive salary with regular reviews and clearly defined bonus terms
Draft exemption (military reservation) for employees
Free training and professional development
Downtown office with a shelter
Medical insurance
