Role overview

The Financial Terms Senior Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Sidley’s global Financial Terms Management function, with a primary focus on enabling new business operations across the firm’s European offices. This is a new role for the London office, and the position serves as a subject matter resource responsible for the review, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing compliance of client and matter financial terms throughout the client-matter lifecycle.

The candidate will work closely with partners, Conflicts and New Business, Pricing, Billing, eBilling, Accounts Receivable, and other revenue teams, and will ensure that financial terms are accurately captured, interpreted, configured, communicated, and maintained in accordance with client agreements, firm policies, and operational requirements. The role combines analytical expertise, technical proficiency, and sound business judgment to support complex client arrangements, resolve issues, improve processes, and promote consistency across the revenue cycle.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional services environment. This individual will serve as a key contributor to process improvement initiatives, operational excellence, and the continued development of the Financial Terms Management function.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and validate financial terms for new and existing clients and matters to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with client agreements, firm policies, and revenue management requirements.

  • Partner with the Conflicts and New Business team to support client intake activities, including reviewing financial information submitted through the New Business Form and validating supporting documentation.

  • Configure, maintain, and update financial terms within the firm’s financial systems, including client and matter billing arrangements, rate structures, discounts, and other financial provisions.

  • Review financial provisions within client guidelines, engagement terms, and related agreements to ensure proper interpretation, implementation, and compliance across the firm.

  • Collaborate with Contracts and Compliance, Pricing, Billing, eBilling, Accounts Receivable, and other business teams to ensure consistent application of financial terms and client requirements.

  • Support the onboarding and operational needs of the firm’s European offices by ensuring financial terms are appropriately reviewed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with regional business requirements and firm standards.

  • Provide coverage for the Financial Terms Management department mailbox outside of standard U.S. business hours, monitoring and triaging urgent requests, coordinating resolution with appropriate stakeholders, and ensuring uninterrupted support for the firm's European offices and global business operations.

Candidate profile

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 2 years of analytical experience

  • Advanced capability and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with 3E, Intapp, Sharepoint, Smartsheets, NetDocs
