This is a senior consulting opportunity for a Workday Financials expert who can translate complex business needs into scalable enterprise solutions.
You will play a hands-on architectural role across major Workday Financials transformation and implementation initiatives.
The position combines solution design, client engagement, configuration oversight, testing, and post-production support.
You will facilitate design sessions, capture requirements, shape innovative solutions, and help organizations streamline their financial processes.
The role also provides opportunities to mentor junior consultants and contribute to sales and business development activities.
You will work in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment alongside project leaders and client stakeholders.
The position is primarily remote, with travel of up to 50% for key project milestones and client engagements.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as a hands-on Financials Solution Architect across assigned Workday implementation and transformation projects.
- Lead and facilitate design sessions, gathering and documenting client requirements and translating them into effective Workday Financials solutions.
- Configure solutions and provide architectural and functional guidance throughout project delivery.
- Oversee documentation, configuration, testing support, go-live activities, and post-production hypercare.
- Collaborate closely with project leadership to identify challenges, communicate risks, and recommend improvements to project processes.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute expertise to strengthen team capabilities and delivery quality.
- Help streamline client financial processes through thoughtful solution design and effective Workday implementation practices.
- Participate in sales-cycle activities, including RFx responses, oral presentations, demonstrations, and client-facing discussions.
- Contribute to an innovative and collaborative consulting culture focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Support key client milestones through on-site engagement when required.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of Workday Financials implementation experience, or a master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates without a formal degree may qualify with at least 11 years of Workday Financials implementation experience.
- Current Workday certification and demonstrated expertise in at least two Workday Financials pillars.
- Proven experience executing projects within a structured implementation methodology.
- Experience participating in ERP software sales cycles, including RFx responses and oral presentations.
- Strong understanding of Workday Financials solution design, implementation, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct Workday demonstrations and client presentations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project leadership, consultants, and client stakeholders.
- Strong consultative approach and a demonstrated commitment to delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
- Experience with at least five complete Workday Financials implementations is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting state or local government implementations is a plus, particularly leading Foundation Data Model (FDM) design.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, balanced with remote work and/or office-based work.
- Annual salary range of $135,000–$225,000, depending on skills, experience, training, certifications, and other business factors.
