Fine Arts Host/Hostess (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY: Monitor first, second, and third floors of Fine Arts Monday through Friday evenings (5:00 pm to close) and Saturdays (9:00 am to close), and assist guests that are in the building for Fine Arts events.

Hiring for fall 2025
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor studio and classroom sign-in books
- Be aware of all people currently on their floor
- Walk the floor every 15 minutes to monitor activity in studios and classrooms
- Address infractions of Fine Arts and University policies as necessary
- Take care of problems in the building should they arise
- Answer visitors’ questions
- Assist in hanging signs and monitoring the snack room during High School Festival and AACS
- Ensure the building is clear at the end of the evening
- Some shifts will monitor practice studios in Gaston or Johnson.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
- A familiarity with the Fine Arts department and building
- Ability and willingness to confront individuals graciously when necessary
- Good people skills
- Responsible
- Observant
- Desire to serve others
