Finishing Team Manager
We are looking for a Finishing Team Manager who will maintain and improve the safety, quality, service, cost, and culture on the night shift as well as provide direct leadership to finishing operations by supervising day-to-day production and performance of multiple hourly direct reports. To be successful in this role, you will require good communication skills with a diverse workforce and other members of the production leadership team, an ability to prioritize work, a sense of urgency to solve problems, and strength in making timely and effective decisions to resolve any issues that prevent the company from meeting its goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
This is an on-site position located in Painesville, OH, with standard hours from 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM Mon-Fri (requiring flexibility to connect with both second and third shift finishing teams).
Lead daily activities of approximately 20 team members including mentoring, counseling, performance management, and corrective action processes.
Facilitate department Tier I reviews, update metrics, and drive daily improvement actions for safety, cost, losses, quality, and efficiency.
Drive safety culture and performance by conducting safety audits, investigating accidents/near misses, and ensuring all associates follow safe standards and policies.
Drive the identification of root causes and countermeasures for department performance issues including downtime, delays, and quality defects while allocating resources effectively.
Support and collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering teams, assure shift production report accuracy, and communicate downtime issues across shifts and management.
Minimum of 3 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to achieve operational results through delegation and teamwork while gaining respect at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, effectively problem-solve operational issues, and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to build a teamwork atmosphere with a diverse workforce.
Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree, experience with Lean/Six Sigma, ISO 9000, TS 16949, or project management.
Pay Transparency:
The salary range for this position is $75,000- $100,000/ year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
