Finishing Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
Come join the Pequot Manufacturing team! We are currently hiring Finishers to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will perform a variety of finishing processes to prepare and complete precision components, including grinding, deburring, tumbling, chamfering, polishing, and surface preparation. Finishers are responsible for removing excess material, burrs, and imperfections from metal parts while ensuring products meet quality and customer specifications.
This position will also support Cerakote finishing processes, including accurately masking and taping parts to protect designated surfaces, preparing components for coating, and ensuring finished products meet appearance and performance requirements. You will apply solutions and chemicals as needed to clean and prepare surfaces, operate related equipment, and inspect completed work using appropriate gauges and visual standards.
The Finisher role requires attention to detail, the ability to work with complex precision parts, and a commitment to producing high-quality components that meet exacting tolerances.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Select files or other abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.
- Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
- File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as metalworking dies and machine parts, to conform to templates, other parts, layouts, or blueprint specifications.
- Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment.
- Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools.
- Remove completed work pieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place work pieces in containers.
- Apply solutions and chemicals to equipment, objects, or parts to clean and degrease surfaces.
- Recognize and sort for material defects and mark for disposition.
- Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
- Record product and processing data according to established procedures.
