Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Technician
SUMMARY:
Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Technician specializes in the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of fire alarm systems and related low-voltage electrical components. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety codes, and building regulations, with the ability to troubleshoot and ensure systems operate reliably.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and service alarm panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, and detectors for fire alarm systems.
- Use a digital multi-meter to troubleshoot ground faults, shorts, and open circuits on fire alarm systems.
- Fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining conduit, junction boxes, terminals, and equipment for fire alarm systems.
- Strip, pull, and terminate wire to fire alarm devices using crimps, solder, shrink tubing, tape, wire nuts, and terminal blocks.
- Install, configure, and upgrade fire alarm systems, including panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, and related wiring.
- Diagnose and repair faults in fire alarm and security systems, identifying and correcting malfunctions.
- Attach conduits to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or anchors.
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems using fire alarm testing equipment, load testing, visual and audible observation, or other methods
- Measure and mark conduits for cutting and bending.
