Position Summary

Mongiovi & Son is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Manager to oversee and grow our fire alarm service operations.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of our fire alarm service team, including scheduling and supervising technicians, managing service calls and inspections, estimating work, maintaining strong customer relationships, overseeing monitoring accounts, and driving the overall performance and profitability of the division.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in fire alarm systems combined with previous experience managing technicians and service operations for a fire alarm, life safety, low-voltage, or security systems company.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the fire alarm service division
• Directly supervise, schedule, and provide daily direction to fire alarm service and inspection technicians
• Coordinate service calls, inspections, repairs, installations, and small projects to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule
• Provide technical support and direction to field technicians as needed
• Assist with troubleshooting and field operations when necessary
• Estimate and prepare proposals for service work, repairs, system upgrades, and installation projects
• Review project drawings, plans, specifications, contracts, and proposals for accuracy and scope
• Coordinate with customers, technicians, sales, management, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades
• Maintain strong customer relationships and respond to customer questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner
• Oversee material procurement and coordinate equipment and material needs for technicians and projects
• Oversee customer contracts, invoicing, reporting, and administration related to fire alarm monitoring services
• Review service billing and work with internal staff to ensure completed work is invoiced accurately and promptly
• Assist with collections and resolution of outstanding customer accounts when necessary
• Monitor department performance, productivity, backlog, and profitability
• Review division profit and loss performance in coordination with company management
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, and pricing recommendations
• Develop and maintain operational procedures to improve efficiency, accountability, and customer service
• Ensure technicians follow company policies, safety requirements, and applicable fire alarm codes and standards
• Evaluate current operations and recommend improvements to support continued growth of the division
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the fire protection division

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing a service department or field service team preferred
• Previous experience with fire alarm, life safety, low-voltage, or security systems strongly preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems required
• Experience estimating and pricing fire alarm service, repair, or installation work preferred
• Experience supervising and scheduling field technicians
• Strong understanding of customer service and service department operations
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment
• NICET certification is a plus, but not required
• Ohio and/or West Virginia fire alarm licensing is a plus
• Valid driver's license required
• Familiarity with Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding service area preferred
