Fire Protection Engineer

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Technical Specialist and Fire Protection Engineer, performing design, analysis, and oversight services for fire protection and life safety systems.

As a Technical Specialist and Fire Protection Engineer, you will:

Develop fire protection design criteria for the Omaha District to supplement Army-wide criteria.

Direct the design effort of multiple disciplines including Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineers for various facets of Fire Protection Design.

Define the scope of fire protection requirements based on engineering knowledge, judgment, and functional requirements.

Direct life-cycle cost analysis with the objective of evaluation and ranking design alternative with regard to overall economy.

Represent Omaha District for the purpose of coordinating and furnishing engineering advise on unique and complex fire protection design problems.
