Fire Protection Inspector

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position located with the DES - Fire Protection & Prevention Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Review monthly fire inspection reports submitted by firefighters and/or area/building fire marshals.

Conduct inspections of buildings and facilities throughout the installation.

Investigate new and unusual work and living situations to detect and eliminate fire hazards.

Conduct plan reviews for new construction and renovations of existing structures within the assigned area.

Develop, delivers and conducts fire and life safety education to secure client involvement in fire prevention, detection, and suppression safety and evacuation emphasizing fire prevention topics.

Conduct an information program and secures client involvement in fire prevention, detection, and suppression.
