Fire Protection Specialist

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as a Fire Protection Specialist, GS-0081-10, with responsibility for performing phases of the total fire protection and prevention program. It is located in Boeblingen, Stuttgart, Germany on Panzer Kaserne base.

Serve as Assistant Chief for Health and Safety that is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive training program of a sufficient magnitude for all functional areas of the base Fire Protection Office.

Serve as the Health and Safety Coordinator and instructor for the fire department training office.

Serve as the on-site Safety Officer when live-fire training or major drills/exercises are conducted and has the authority to discontinue or suspend operations until the hazards or procedures are eliminated.

Maintain a high-level competent knowledge of firefighting, rescue, hazardous material and instruction techniques.

Assign work of other staff member who administer training programs activities.

Evaluate the comprehensive fire protection training, safety, and hazardous material programs.
