FIREFIGHTER (PARAMEDIC)

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.

You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and /or Rescue Team.

You will perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles.

You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.

You will respond as a member of an emergency response company and perform assigned tasks during ambulance/ rescue responses.

You will be periodically assigned to standby duties at the scene of hazardous operations.

You will prioritize treatment for patients having multiple problems and employ a variety of established emergency medical/medicine techniques, methods, and equipment to intervene on the patient's behalf.

You will report in a clear/concise manner, orally or in writing, what injuries were identifies and what care was administered at the scene or in transit.

You will decontaminate vehicle and equipment as directed by protocols.

You will conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of their condition and search for medical alert symbols.

You will participate and lead classes on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other topic areas for Emergency Medical Technician.
