Firefighter and EMT role responding to emergencies, conducting fire suppression, medical care, and inspections for the U.S. Marine Corps in Yuma, AZ.
This vacancy announcement may be used to fill positions at various locations throughout the United States Marine Corps.
You will perform duties of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and serve in a team responsible for the rescue and on scene care of victim(s) of fire, illness accidents or other types of injuries.
You will respond to incidents such as structure fires, wildland fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, aircraft crashes and hazardous materials incidents.
You will fight fires and conduct fire suppression operations while leading and directing crew in all aspects of firefighting, emergency medical, hazardous materials, search and rescue, fire prevention and communications.
You will perform engine inspections and building pre-plans.
You will review contractor designs and specifications for fire suppression/detection systems
You will conduct periodic and special inspections of high hazard buildings on and off base; inspect installed sprinkler systems CO2 systems, flooding systems etc to ensure they are operational, maintained and adequate
You will conduct training for fire inspectors and firefighters, maintain Emergency Communication equipment respond to emergency incidents and assume command and control
You will perform safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles. Perform maintenance of fire hydrants and check water system valves.
