Firmware Engineer Co-Op
NewBe an early applicantIn This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Firmware Development Tools & Infrastructure (70%)
- Develop and enhance firmware build automation and toolchains
- Create CI workflows and automated testing solutions
- Integrate code quality, security, and static analysis tools
- Improve source control, code review, and release processes
- Document and standardize development workflows
Embedded Firmware Implementation (30%)
- Develop firmware for next-generation actuator platforms
- Assist with BSP, driver, and application software development
- Debug firmware and support hardware bring-up activities
- Participate in product validation and testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline
- Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and problem-solving
- Experience or coursework in embedded systems development
- Familiarity with C/C++ programming
- Exposure to software development processes, version control, and debugging tools
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and data sheets
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with:
- Version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
- Continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Personal, academic, or team-based embedded software projects
- Familiarity with:
- Embedded debugging tools and techniques
- Real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Static analysis and unit testing frameworks
- Secure software development practices
