Firmware Engineer Data Center Solid State Drives

In this role you will build high-performance embedded firmware for Micron’s Data Center SSD controllers and memory systems. You will collaborate with hardware, validation, and system teams to evaluate, develop, test, and debug firmware for next-generation memory controllers and SSDs. You will drive root-cause analysis, issue triage, and performance optimization to ensure reliability in enterprise and cloud environments. • Develop, test, and debug embedded firmware for Data Center SSD controllers and memory systems
• Analyze firmware behavior, troubleshoot failures, and perform root-cause analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve product issues
• Contribute to firmware validation, integration, and performance optimization activities
• Participate in code reviews, bug tracking, and continuous improvement of development processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
• Experience or academic background in embedded firmware development
• Programming experience in Python and familiarity with at least one system-level language (e.g., C/C++)
• Knowledge of scripting languages, development tools, and debugging environments
• Ability to work in a multi-functional team and manage multiple priorities
