Firmware Testing Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Firmware Testing Engineer with 57 years of hands-on experience in firmware testing, embedded systems, communication protocols, and hardware testing.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of UART, RS485, SPI interfaces, Linux OS testing, and communication protocol validation. Experience with automation testing using Python, Selenium, or Playwright will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of physical access controllers and readers.
• Set up and configure test environments involving physical access controllers and readers.
• Execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Validate firmware functionality and communication protocols.
• Identify, document, track, and report defects and issues.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts.
• Perform regression, stress, load, performance, and system testing.
• Validate communication interfaces such as UART, RS485, and SPI.
• Use RS485 interface tools and communication sniffing tools for debugging and testing.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve firmware-related issues.

Required Skills

• 5–7 years of experience in Firmware Testing.
• Strong understanding of UART, RS485, and SPI interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS testing.
• Good understanding of communication protocols and their implementation validation.
• Practical experience with RS485 interface tools and communication sniffing tools.
• Exposure to automation testing using Python, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Experience in manual testing, regression testing, and system testing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in embedded systems and hardware testing.
• Knowledge of firmware debugging and troubleshooting.
• Experience in developing Python-based automation scripts.
• Exposure to physical access control systems, controllers, and readers.
