About the Opportunity
A Vancouver practice with a significant Indigenous law group is seeking a lawyer to advise First Nations clients on governance, treaty, and related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise First Nations governments and organizations on legal matters, including governance and treaty issues

  • Support negotiations with government and industry stakeholders

  • Draft agreements, policies, and legal opinions for Indigenous community clients

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with First Nations clients

  • Collaborate with colleagues across related practice areas (lands, resources, litigation)

Qualifications

  • Called to the Bar in British Columbia, in good standing

  • 5+ years of experience in Indigenous law or a closely related field

  • Genuine interest in and sensitivity to working with Indigenous communities

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills

  • Willingness to travel to community meetings as required
