Fixed Probing & Analytics Engineer

Summary

Designs and maintains passive network probing and analytics systems for Vodafone’s UK fixed network, focusing on end-to-end monitoring, data-driven insights, and troubleshooting. Works with system architecture, data pipelines, and vendor/stakeholder collaboration to ensure scalable, cost-efficient solutions aligned with business needs.

Role Purpose

Design, deliver, and evolve passive probing and analytics solutions in the UK market, primarily for the fixed domain, enabling end‑to‑end network monitoring, data‑driven insights, and advanced troubleshooting capabilities. Ensure scalability, cost‑efficiency, and alignment with technology evolution while supporting business use cases through reliable data feeds and analytics integration.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and delivery of passive probing and analytics solutions for fixed in the UK.
  • Define and contribute to end‑to‑end system architecture (data generation, ingestion, processing, storage, reporting).
  • Ensure successful project delivery aligned with milestones, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Produce and maintain key technical documentation (HLD, LLD, data models).
  • Design, implement, and evolve passive probing for fixed in the UK, based on underlying network elements, the interconnecting/transmission network, traffic forecasts, and user requirements.
  • Data & Analytics Enablement: Deliver high‑quality, scalable data feeds to analytics platforms supporting business and operational use cases.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Contribute to technical requirements definition (RFP/RFQ, SOW scope) and vendor evaluation processes.
  • Strategy & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the evolution of probing and analytics strategy, considering business needs and technology trends.
  • Financial & Delivery Accountability: Support CAPEX planning, budget tracking, and cost optimization initiatives.

Who you are

  • Engineering degree (Bachelor / Master) in telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Professional level of certification in the OSS domain will be considered if available.
  • Customer‑oriented and result‑driven mentality, possessing a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent command over the English language, including communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written.
