Fleet Commercial Account Manager
Fleet Commercial Account Manager
Chalmers Ford | Fleet Sales Department
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS. DEVELOP COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS. GROW YOUR EARNING POTENTIAL.
Chalmers Ford is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Fleet Commercial Account Manager to expand our commercial customer base, develop new business opportunities, and grow fleet vehicle sales throughout the local and surrounding markets.
We're looking for a versatile sales professional with a diverse background in fleet sales, commercial accounts, B2B sales, or business development. The ideal candidate understands how to work with commercial customers, identify business needs, develop tailored solutions, and build lasting relationships with business owners, contractors, fleet managers, purchasing departments, and corporate decision-makers.
We're interested in candidates with experience across a variety of commercial industries—not just traditional automotive dealerships. Professionals with backgrounds in commercial truck sales, fleet leasing, vehicle upfitting, equipment sales, transportation, logistics, construction, and other B2B environments are encouraged to apply.
This is an outside sales and business development opportunity for someone who enjoys networking, prospecting, making in-person business visits, and turning new opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.
Your primary focus will be growing commercial vehicle sales and positioning Chalmers Ford as a trusted resource for fleet vehicles, commercial vehicle solutions, upfitting, and ongoing service needs.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As Fleet Commercial Account Manager, you'll have the opportunity to build your own commercial customer relationships, uncover new business opportunities, and help businesses find the right vehicles and solutions for their operations.
We're looking for someone who can confidently engage with business customers, understand their operational needs, and develop relationships that generate repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, prospect, and develop new commercial vehicle and fleet sales opportunities.
Conduct outside sales activities, including cold calling, door-to-door prospecting, networking, and in-person visits to local businesses.
Build relationships with business owners, contractors, fleet managers, purchasing managers, operations managers, and other decision-makers.
Develop a strong understanding of each customer's business, vehicle requirements, fleet needs, and purchasing process.
Promote Chalmers Ford's commercial vehicle inventory, fleet purchasing options, vehicle upfitting, and service capabilities.
Research local businesses, industries, and commercial markets to identify potential accounts.
Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and needs assessment through proposals, negotiations, closing, and follow-up.
Schedule appointments and maintain consistent communication with prospective and existing customers.
Collaborate with the Fleet Sales Department to develop vehicle and upfitting solutions tailored to customer requirements.
Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, customer interactions, follow-ups, and sales opportunities.
Develop long-term commercial partnerships that encourage repeat purchases, referrals, and account growth.
Represent Chalmers Ford professionally throughout the local business community.
Consistently pursue new accounts and work toward sales and business development goals.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're seeking a proactive sales professional who understands commercial customers, enjoys developing new business, and can build relationships across a variety of industries.
We value a diverse sales background and welcome candidates who have worked with businesses, commercial accounts, fleet customers, or other B2B clients.

Vehicle upfitting and work-truck solutions: Selling specialty equipment, service bodies, utility vehicles, or customized commercial vehicle solutions.
Equipment and machinery sales: Selling products or equipment to construction companies, contractors, and commercial operators.
B2B outside sales and account management: Developing business accounts, prospecting new customers, and managing ongoing commercial relationships.
Transportation, logistics, and business services: Working with companies that have operational vehicle requirements or recurring purchasing needs.
Commercial or industrial sales: Selling products and services to business owners, purchasing teams, and corporate decision-makers.
Experience in one or more of these areas can be valuable. Candidates do not necessarily need to come from a traditional dealership environment if they bring strong commercial sales experience and the ability to develop new accounts.
Qualifications
Experience in outside sales, B2B sales, commercial accounts, fleet sales, or business development is preferred.
Demonstrated experience working directly with commercial customers and business decision-makers.
Ability to identify customer needs and develop solutions that support business operations.
Strong prospecting skills, including cold calling, networking, in-person visits, and follow-up.
Confidence managing the sales process from initial contact through closing and account development.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and sales opportunities.
Willingness to travel locally to meet prospective and existing customers.
Professional demeanor and a commitment to building long-term customer relationships.
Automotive, commercial truck, fleet management, vehicle upfitting, or equipment sales experience is a plus.
