Position Overview

Aero Snow Removal, part of the Outworx Group family of companies, is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment during winter weather events. This seasonal, on-call role is essential to keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for snow removal operations at local airports.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical and electrical systems. You should be comfortable working independently, responding to urgent repairs, and working outdoors in challenging winter conditions.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment.

• Repair and service diesel engines, braking systems, hydraulic systems, ignition systems, and related components.

• Service equipment from manufacturers including Case, CAT, Crane Carrier, Detroit Diesel, Ford, GMC, International, John Deere, Komatsu, Mack, and Oshkosh.

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to keep equipment safe and operational.

• Respond to emergency repair needs during snow events, including work on airport airfields.

• Prioritize repairs to minimize equipment downtime and maintain fleet readiness.

• Use diagnostic equipment, welding tools, and hand and power tools to complete repairs.

• Create, update, and complete maintenance work orders using maintenance software.

• Test-drive equipment, when needed, to verify repairs.

• Communicate repair status and equipment needs to the operations team.

• Follow all safety procedures while working around heavy equipment, vehicles, and airport operations.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

Required

• 3–5 years of professional mechanic experience.

• Experience diagnosing and repairing trucks, vehicles, or heavy equipment.

• Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Ability to obtain and maintain required airport security clearance.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Diesel mechanic experience.

• Heavy equipment repair experience.

• Experience with welding and hydraulic systems.

• Experience using maintenance software and managing electronic work orders.

• Experience servicing snow-removal equipment or fleet vehicles.

Schedule and Work Environment

This is a seasonal, on-call position. Availability is required during winter weather events, which may include extended shifts, overnight work, weekends, and holidays. The role requires working outdoors and in non-climate-controlled conditions, including on airport airfields. Overnight travel to other locations may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout the workday.

• Perform inspections and repairs in outdoor, cold-weather, and other challenging conditions.

• Work safely around trucks, heavy equipment, tools, moving machinery, and airport operations.
