Fleet/Maintenance Coordinator
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Fleet/Maintenance Coordinator to join our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role is responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient and cost-effective maintenance of our mobile equipment fleet. Working closely with supervisors, trades, contractors and suppliers, you'll play a critical role in ensuring maintenance activities are planned, executed and monitored to maximise equipment availability, reliability and performance.
As the Fleet/Maintenance Coordinator, you'll oversee the coordination of maintenance activities across Foxleigh's mobile fleet, including haul trucks, dozers, excavators, graders, support equipment and light vehicles.
This is a hands-on coordination role where you'll balance operational priorities, contractor management, compliance and continuous improvement while supporting the delivery of safe and reliable maintenance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities across the mobile equipment fleet.
- Drive a strong safety culture in line with Foxleigh's Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and Queensland Coal Mining legislation.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with statutory requirements, site procedures and OEM recommendations.
- Monitor fleet performance, downtime and reliability KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers and OEM representatives to support planned and breakdown maintenance.
- Integrate contractor schedules into the site's master maintenance plan and monitor contractor performance.
- Maintain the integrity of the Pulse Work Management System, including defect management, backlog control and purchase requisitions.
- Assist with contractor management, equipment compliance, asset core returns and critical spare management.
- Chair and participate in daily maintenance, planning, scheduling and contractor meetings.
- Support the Reliability Engineer and Maintenance Superintendent with continuous improvement initiatives that improve fleet reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Build strong working relationships across Maintenance, Operations and Technical Services to ensure maintenance priorities are achieved.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- A relevant trade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent).
- At least 5 years' experience within open-cut coal mining, heavy industry or a similar maintenance environment.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating maintenance activities across heavy mobile equipment.
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance strategies and mobile equipment reliability.
- Experience using maintenance management systems such as Pulse, SAP or similar CMMS platforms.
- Proven ability to coordinate preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Current Open Driver's Licence
- Standard 11 and Health Assessment (or ability to obtain)
