Merrell Bros., Inc. is seeking applicants for a Full-time Fleet Maintenance Technician. Ideal candidates for this Technician opening will have experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy Class 8 (Tractor Trailers), knowledge of PM requirements, a CDL License is a plus!
This position specializes in operation and maintenance of a semi transport tractor and trailer. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots problems on vehicles. Teamwork to efficiently manage priorities based on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform minor level repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on semi-trucks/trailers.
- Perform DOT Inspections, including safety and brake inspections.
- Perform scheduled service, and oil changes.
- Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs in a timely manner.
- Performing electrical system repairs on vehicles.
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on vehicles.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Document vehicle records and report both manually and via computer.
- Advocate safety protocols and document findings.
- Ensure all personnel are compliant and wearing all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for the specific work activity being performed.
