Primary Objectives of Position:

• Provide mechanical service in a timely and efficient manner under the direction of the Shop Supervisor
• Perform assigned maintenance and repair tasks while developing mechanical knowledge and skills
• Support the cooperative’s mission and operational goals by maintaining equipment readiness and reliability
• Follow all cooperative, federal, state, and DOT policies and safety procedures
• Maintain flexibility to assist as needed
• Deliver dependable service while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Responsibilities of the Position:

• Perform basic mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and service tasks on fleet vehicles and equipment as assigned
• Assist shop mechanics with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance activities
• Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with ordering parts and retrieving supplies as directed by the Shop Supervisor
• Maintain accurate records of service time, maintenance performed, and parts used
• Inspect equipment for basic mechanical issues and report concerns to the Shop Supervisor
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Participate in training to improve mechanical skills and knowledge
• Perform general shop duties, including cleaning, organizing, and assisting other team members as needed
