Primary Purpose

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty vehicles as well as standard cars and trucks to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about vehicle and equipment repair, possesses strong mechanical skills, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly and safely every day.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on our Tractors and Trailers, in addition to our standard fleet vehicles.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and hydraulic system servicing.
• Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, transmissions, air brake systems, and HVAC components.
• Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
• Inspect vehicles for safety issues related to suspension, shocks & struts, alignment, and overall mechanical condition.
• Maintain detailed service records and document repairs accurately for compliance and future reference.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or soldering work to repair or assemble equipment components.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic with diesel experience preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, and welding/ fabrication.
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and industrial equipment maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
• Relevant certifications or licenses related to vehicle or heavy equipment repair are a plus.
