Set up and operate industrial machinery like straighteners and saws in a steel tubing manufacturing plant, ensuring safety and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all guards are in place.
  • Conscientiously work toward running a safer and cleaner operation.
  • Inform the supervisors of any maintenance problems or suggested changes to equipment.
  • Set up and operate machines as directed by shift Supervisor per procedures and work instructions.
  • Must be willing and able to become qualified on the following job classes:

Straightener Operator (030)

Furnace Assistant (031)

Tank Operator/ Auto Push Pointer (045)

Push Point Operator (051)

Saw Operator (053)

  • Pay progression will be given in steps as an employee qualifies for each job class.
  • Must be able to use gauges and measuring devices to make quality checks as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for the quality of the product run.
  • Inform Manager/Supervisor of any maintenance problems or production problems as soon as possible.
  • Efficiently and accurately fill out required paperwork.
  • Assumes various other duties at the direction of the shift supervisor.
