DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will join Formulated Materials LLC, a division of Compellier out of Oklahoma City, OK - a building materials supplier and provider of innovative systems designed to elevate and advance the construction industry.

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for executing a growth strategy targeting specific business segment(s) in a defined geographic territory. The BDR must be a high-energy, confident, and motivated sales professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter willing to call on contractors and design professionals both at the office and on commercial construction sites.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Immerse yourself in our business and proactively seek out news and insights; become a subject matter expert.
  • Continually execute and refine a systematic approach to market segment penetration through effective use of tools to prospect, cold call, and secure meetings with a defined target audience.
  • Schedule, prepare & execute detailed, meaningful presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Utilize strategic questioning tactics and analytical skills to qualify targets and provide the best solutions based on product application and project logistics.
  • Build and deliver proposals, negotiate, and close new business.
  • Collaborate across different channels within the business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel to job sites, attend meetings and functions outside of typical business hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Master’s degree in business or related field and 3 years of experience working in a sales position ~OR~
  • Bachelors degree in business or related field and 4 years of experience working in a sales position. ~OR~
  • Associate’s degree in business or a related field and 6 years of sales experience in a sales position.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a motor vehicle check.


LOCATION

  • This incumbent of this position needs to be located in the Atlanta or Florida area.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overnight travel is required. Approximately 50% travel in market with occasional travel for internal meetings.
  • Must be comfortable on commercial construction project sites and occasionally lift packaged products weighing up to 80lbs for product demonstrations.
  • May encounter construction sites, industrial facilities, or outdoor locations depending on the industry.
  • Regular exposure to varying weather conditions when traveling between appointments.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs while visiting customer locations.
  • Prolonged periods of driving and sitting.
  • Regular driving between customer locations throughout the assigned territory.
  • Wearing necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when visiting customer locations.
