We’re looking for an experienced and passionate permanent full-time Food & Beverage Manager to lead our F&B operations at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Business Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy café and catering services, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, strong financial performance, and an engaged, high-performing team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance operational excellence, people leadership, stock control, administration, food safety, and customer service.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Leading and developing a team of approximately 10-20 staff
Delivering exceptional food, beverage, and customer service standards
Managing rosters, recruitment, training, and performance
Developing, costing, and implementing menus
Managing stock control, ordering, and monthly stocktakes
Overseeing POS systems, cash handling, and reconciliations
Monitoring budgets and driving profitability
Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and company policies
Maintaining high presentation and cleanliness standards across the operation
Supporting business growth initiatives and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For:
Proven hospitality leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong people leadership and team development skills
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
Experience with stock management, budgeting, and administration
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident with Microsoft Office and business systems
Experience using accounting or purchasing systems is advantageous
Barista experience and coffee-making skills
LCQ and General Manager's Certificate (preferred)
NZQA-recognised Hospitality qualification or at least 3 years' hospitality industry experience
Availability to work a rotating 7-day roster
