Food & Consumer Education (FCE) Lab Assistant - MOE Secondary School (Job Reference: TSTKNE-2026-07-001)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and dependable Kitchen Lab Assistant to support the daily operations of the Nutrition and Food Science Laboratory, while providing administrative support in an MOE Secondary School near Hougang MRT. You will work closely with the HOD/LH-Science and Vice Principal, Administration Managers/Executives and School Leaders to ensure smooth school operations.

Key Responsibilities

• To assist the teachers in the preparation of crockery and ingredients for cookery classes.

• To assist the teachers in the distribution of crockery and ingredients to students during cookery classes.

• To clean all equipment and crockery items used during cookery lessons and ensure these items are stored appropriately at the end of the working day.

• To ensure that table-tops and floors are kept clean at the end of each lesson, and at the end of the day.

• To perform any other duties as assigned by SH/HOD overseeing the department.

Job Requirements

• GCE ‘N’ Level

• Able to understand instructions, read, write and speak simple English.

• A valid WSQ Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1 (or above) certification during period of contract

• Possess knowledge of food preparation and safety.

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in any previous food handling assignments.

Contract Period: From 04 Jan 2027 – 29 Oct 2027

Location: Hougang MRT

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break

Service not required on:

• Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

• First 3 weeks of June Holidays.

• School holidays in November and December

• Youth Day, eve of Teachers’ Day, Teachers’ Day, eve of National Day, Thanksgiving and Award Presentation Ceremony (TAPC)
