Food Lab Assistant (Bartley)
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, utensils and equipment for practical lessons and assessments.
- Assist teachers during practical sessions and reset workstations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food laboratories and storage areas.
- Assist with purchasing, stocktaking and inventory management.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and proper food storage.
- Conduct basic equipment checks and report defects or hazards.
- Maintain records and support departmental activities as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum GCE N-Level or equivalent.
- Valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a secondary school Nutrition and Food Science laboratory.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and email correspondence.
- Organised, meticulous and familiar with food safety and hygiene practices.
Duration/Working Hours:
Contract Duration: 12 months - subj to extension of 12 months (Jan 2027 to Dec 2027)
Service Required: 11 months - subj to extension of 11 months(Jan 2027 to Nov 2027) (Extension is from Jan 2028 to Nov 2028)
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
Mondays to Fridays: 7.00am to 4.00pm (except Wednesday),

inclusive of half hour lunch break
Wednesdays: 8.30am to 5.30pm, inclusive of half hour lunch break
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays unless it is a special school event.
Working hours are subject to changes. On certain days (fewer than 10 days a year), longer working hours up to 6:30pm may be required. The school will endeavour to provide advance notice where possible.
