Food Safety and Quality Coordinator

As a Food Safety and Quality Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring our gourmet nuts, trail mixes, snacks, and coffee compliance to company policies and procedures, food safety standards, sanitation and government regulations. IN A NUTSHELLProduct Quality and Food Safety

• Support Production Team Members and Team Leads in resolving quality and food safety issues during manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, sanitation protocols, CCPs, equipment, and production lines to maintain safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with batch setups, equipment calibrations, allergen cleanouts, and functionality checks.
• Address deviations promptly, recommending corrective actions to maintain product integrity.

Quality Assurance and Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of certifications, product specifications, and supplier approvals.
• Perform raw material sampling and coordinate third-party testing.
• Document non-conformances, product holds, corrective actions, and maintain HACCP, allergen control, and GMP programs.
• Create and update Certificates of Analysis and Conformance to meet quality standards.
• Prepare reports on quality assurance and safety performance, and communicating findings to management.
• Oversee incoming inspection program.

Training and Compliance

• Promote a culture of food safety by educating and mentoring team members.
• Lead training on HACCP, food safety practices, and quality standards.
• Support adherence to HACCP guidelines across production processes.
• Prepare and manage documentation for internal and external audits.
• Continuously improve processes to enhance safety, quality, and compliance.

PERFECT INGREDIENTS FOR SUCCESS

• Associate's degree or higher education in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is required.
• Three or more years of experience in food production, with a focus on quality assurance or food safety.
• Ability to obtain HACCP certification within the first six months of employment.
• Advanced knowledge of food safety, quality assurance practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency knowledge of food safety, quality assurance practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong work ethic and personal/professional integrity.
• Able to problem solve and adapt to help others find solutions.
• Ability to stand on a concrete floor for extended periods.
• Computer proficiency.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• English/Spanish bilingual abilities preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment The majority of work is performed in a climate-controlled warehouse and food manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position may require the employee to bend at the waist, crouch or stoop, and lift items at ground level. The position involves frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day and up to 50 pounds on occasion. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform tasks such as completing paperwork and operating a computer terminal. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job as all equipment and job duties are conducted on-site in a food manufacturing facility. This position may involve exposure to potential allergens.
