The Veteran Homes provide direct nursing home care at facilities in Sandusky and Georgetown as well as domiciliary living to qualified veterans in Sandusky. Create and manage staff schedules. Help plan menus and daily food preparation. Make sure all food service operations follow health, safety, and infection control standards. Train new employees and provide ongoing staff education on equipment, safety, and kitchen procedures. Inspect kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness and safety. Check deliveries for quality and accuracy and keep track of inventory. Maintain attendance and other employee records; approve time off and address performance issues when needed. Assist with planning and serving meals for special events. Ensure proper food storage and security of kitchen areas.
