Food Services Operations Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Food Services Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food service outlets. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outlet performance, leading and developing teams, maintaining food quality and safety standards, controlling costs, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

The role requires strong leadership, operational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced food service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and overall performance of food service outlets.

  • Develop and implement operational procedures, service standards, and best practices to improve efficiency.

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate outlet managers, supervisors, and service crew.

  • Plan manpower deployment, staff schedules, and shift arrangements according to business needs.

  • Monitor sales performance, operating costs, labour costs, food costs, and profitability.

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and improve outlet performance.

  • Monitor inventory levels, purchasing, stock usage, food wastage, and cost control.

  • Ensure food quality, consistency, presentation, and service standards are maintained across outlets.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular outlet inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.

  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and develop appropriate service recovery measures.

  • Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate employees to build a high-performing team.

  • Identify staff training needs and coordinate relevant training and development programmes.

  • Analyse operational reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.

  • Work closely with management on business planning, promotions, new initiatives, and operational improvements.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and relevant departments to ensure smooth procurement and supply operations.

  • Support the opening, renovation, or expansion of new outlets when required.

  • Prepare regular operational and performance reports for senior management.

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Food & Beverage or food service operations.

  • Proven experience managing multiple outlets or large food service teams will be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of food service operations, manpower planning, inventory management, and cost control.

  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Able to work independently and make sound operational decisions.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or relevant POS, inventory, and reporting systems.

  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Working Hours

  • 5-day work week, subject to operational requirements.

  • May be required to work weekends, public holidays, and extended hours when necessary.

  • Flexible working hours based on outlet operating schedules.
