Functional roles and responsibilities
To organize production activities of the small works division to execute joinery works in accordance with the approved design, quality and agreed time in a cost effective manner.
- To prepare a cutting list, which clearly defines the complete measurement such as length, height, breadth, etc., based on the final approved drawing.
- Check and allocate timber based on the density, moisture content, appearance and other specifications required for the production.
- Allocate the timber based on the cutting list and drawing to the workmen to ensure optimum utilization of the resources such as the manpower, machines and tools.
- Supervise the work regularly, provide on the spot guidance to ensure high quality craftsmanship and keep senior production supervisor posted on the progress of production. Intervene and resolve/change details as and when required to facilitate smooth implementation of installation as per plan.
- Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.
Education/certification and continued education
Trade apprenticeship or a higher secondary education.
Years of experience
5 – 7 years experience in the joinery industry with up to 2 - 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
