Forescout Cyber Security Engineer (MID)

Position Description:

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced ForeScout Network Security Systems Administrator to support the deployment, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise IT and cybersecurity infrastructure within a secure, multi-domain environment.

This role will work extensively with ForeScout CounterACT, Windows and Linux systems, network infrastructure, Active Directory, firewalls, VLANs, and enterprise cybersecurity tools. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support across systems, network, and security environments while helping maintain system availability, performance, compliance, and security.

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain ForeScout CounterACT appliances within a complex enterprise environment.

• Support the installation and integration of ForeScout across multi-domain environments, including data center, WAN, LAN, and virtualized architectures.

• Perform Windows and/or Linux systems administration, including:

  • System installation and configuration

  • Troubleshooting and issue resolution

  • Monitoring system availability and performance

  • Applying operating system, application, and security upgrades

  • Supporting system hardening and security requirements

• Perform network engineering and administration activities, including:

  • Installation and activation of network ports

  • Switch configuration

  • LAN and VLAN configuration and troubleshooting

  • Firewall and network appliance support

  • Network connectivity troubleshooting

• Support network and enterprise services including Active Directory, domain management, guest LAN environments, and related infrastructure services.

• Troubleshoot technical issues across systems, networking, and cybersecurity infrastructure.

• Integrate and analyze cybersecurity data using enterprise or custom data aggregation and analysis tools, including Splunk.

• Provide Tier II IT operations and maintenance support, including responding to tickets, documenting technical work, updating ticket information, troubleshooting incidents, and implementing remediation.

• Support cybersecurity compliance activities and implementation of applicable federal information security requirements.

• Assist with security assessments, system authorization activities, risk management processes, and remediation efforts.

• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, configuration information, and troubleshooting records.

• Coordinate technical activities with customers, cybersecurity personnel, engineers, administrators, and other stakeholders.

• Independently identify and resolve technical issues while collaborating effectively within a larger technical team.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience performing Windows or Linux systems administration, including experience with:

  • Basic troubleshooting

  • System installation and configuration

  • Monitoring system performance and availability

  • Performing operating system and security upgrades

• Experience deploying and/or performing daily administration and maintenance of ForeScout CounterACT appliances.

• Experience with network engineering or network administration, including one or more of the following:

  • Physical or logical network configuration

  • Installation and activation of network ports

  • Switch configuration

  • LAN and VLAN administration

  • Network firewalls and appliances

  • Active Directory

  • Guest LAN environments

  • Domain administration

• Knowledge of multi-domain architectures, including data center, WAN, LAN, and virtualized environments.

• Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph.

• Education and experience meeting one of the following combinations:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities

  • Associate's degree and 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities

  • Master's degree and 1+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities

• Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of the start date, a DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification, such as:

  • SecurityX (formerly CASP+)

  • CCNP Security

  • CISA

  • CISSP or Associate of CISSP

  • GCED

  • GCIH

  • CCSP

• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support (CSSP-IS) qualifying certification prior to beginning work on the contract. Qualifying certifications may include:

  • CEH

  • CySA+

  • GICSP

  • SSCP

  • CHFI

  • CFR

  • Cloud+

  • CND

Preferred Qualifications

• ForeScout Certified Administrator (FSCA) and/or ForeScout Certified Engineer (FSCE) certification.

• Experience installing and deploying ForeScout within a multi-domain customer environment.

• Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, and frameworks.

• Familiarity with federal security authorization, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems.

• Experience integrating cybersecurity data using Splunk or similar enterprise data aggregation and analysis platforms.

• Experience working in a Tier II IT operations and maintenance environment.

• Experience documenting ticket activity, technical issues, remediation actions, and resolution information.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across systems, networking, and cybersecurity technologies.

• Ability to independently manage assignments and priorities with limited supervision.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative technical environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to coordinate technical efforts and establish productive working relationships.

Certifications

Candidates must meet applicable DoD 8570/8140 workforce certification requirements, including IAT Level III and CSSP Infrastructure Support requirements within the timelines specified above.
