Forest Park Nature Center Host

Duties: Under the supervision of the Chief Naturalist, the Nature Center Host is responsible for:
- Manage visitor experience by answering questions, handing out maps, and facilitating interactions with museum displays and education animals.
- Answer phones and electronic communications.
- Maintain cleanliness of the museum and gift shop.
- Take reservations and registrations for programming and rentals.
- Handle cash in a retail setting.
- Create displays and contributing to publications.
- Assist with special events, rentals, and programming as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; support all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
- All other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: The work requires some physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment, and materials. Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping, and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required on a periodic basis. The programmed activities involve everyday risks, which require normal safety precautions typical of the recreation industry.
