The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating industrial forklifts to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production efficiency, inventory accuracy, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, or reach trucks as applicable) to transport materials within the facility
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods
  • Supply production lines with necessary materials and remove finished products
  • Stack and store materials in designated areas following inventory procedures
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using scanners or warehouse systems
  • Follow all safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
  • Assist with general warehouse and production tasks as needed
  • Keep work areas clean and organized

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • 1+ year of forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
  • Basic math and inventory tracking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
  • May require working evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs
