Forklift Operator

Forklift operator in a busy shipping and receiving area and warehouse.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials, including lumber, pallets, and finished goods.
• Accurately identify and handle materials, even when unlabeled, requiring a keen eye for detail.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of loads.
• Feed materials to production lines, maintaining a steady and efficient workflow.
• Move pallets of lumber to the pallet room, organizing and storing materials as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure accurate inventory management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, preventing damage to doors, materials, and equipment.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Valid forklift certification is required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and handle unlabeled materials.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and best practices for forklift operation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work in various areas of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, and production.
• Discipline to prevent damage to material and company property.
