Forklift Operator/General Labourer (WKD)

Job Description

Under the supervision of the supervisor, the Forklift Operator / General Labourer plays an essential role in the warehousing and order fulfillment operations of a distribution center where temperatures range from 4°C to -25°C. Main responsibilities include:

• Operating Raymond/Crown forklifts;
• Operating a stand-up electric reach forklift in reverse drive mode while following all safety procedures (full stops, blind spots, appropriate speed, etc.);
• Loading and unloading trucks using a forklift;
• Picking and locating products at height, requiring precision and stability;
• Preparing customer orders;
• Lifting, handling, and manually placing boxes weighing up to approximately 60 lb (27 kg) on a repetitive basis throughout the shift to fulfill orders;
• Verifying quantities;
• Using an electronic scanner to confirm that each order matches customer requirements;
• Performing visual and numerical product verification;
• Carrying out any other related duties.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older (in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations);
• Ability to lift loads of approximately 60 lb (27 kg);
• Ability to work in a refrigerated and frozen environment (4°C to -25°C).
